Winners Of £161m Euro Jackpot To Go Public

A couple from Falkirk have been revealed as the winners of the record £161m EuroMillions jackpot.

Camelot says the winners will be going public this afternoon after they claimed the prize yesterday.

The winning numbers were 17, 19, 38, 42 and 45, and the lucky stars were 9 and 10.

The record haul will put them in 430th place on the Sunday Times Rich List.

The jackpot was capped at 185m Euros after several rollovers.

The couple now displace former postal worker Angela Kelly from East Kilbride as Scotland’s biggest winner.

She scooped a EuroMillions jackpot of £35,425,411.80 in August 2007.

At the time the postal worker was also Britain’s biggest Lottery jackpot winner but her win has since been surpassed.

Before the Falkirk couple struck lucky the record was £113m, which was won by a still anonymous ticket holder in October 2010.

Speaking last October before that winner claimed the prize, Ms Kelly said: “A EuroMillions win not only means you can change your own life but also the lives of the people closest to you, and it is that which particularly brings me a great deal of joy.”
