One of Nottingham’s biggest employers is being partly taken over by an Americam company.
America’s largest drug store chain, Walgreens, has signed a 4.3 billion pound deal to take a 45% stake in Nottingham-based Boots.
Walgreens says the partnership will create the first global pharmacy business, with 11,000 stores in 12 countries.
Boots is Nottingham’s biggest employer with around 7,000 people working at its HQ in Beeston.
The deal will also create the world’s largest pharmacy.
