Armed Robbery in Nottingham
Masked men hold up Nottingham bank.
Armed robbers threatened staff at a Nottingham bank before making off with a quantity of money, police have said.
The incident happened at the Wollaton Road branch of Lloyds TSB at around 3pm on July 2, Nottinghamshire Police said.
Two men threatened the cashier with what is believed to have been a handgun and a hammer.
They made off with a quantity of bank notes leaving the cashier and customers shaken but uninjured.
One man was wearing a grey/green-coloured Parker-style coat with the hood up and a scarf around his face.
The other was around 5ft 10ins tall and wearing a black Parker-style coat and a blue crash helmet, which featured a circle and cross on it.
They are thought to have left the scene on a dark red motorcycle heading towards Ringwood Crescent.
A Nottinghamshire Police spokesperson said: “We would like to reassure the community that though this type of incident is a rare occurrence, we are taking it very seriously.
“Witness statements are being gathered and enquiries are being made in a bid to track down the offenders. Extra police patrols are also being undertaken to ensure residents feel safe at this time.”
