Derby Festé 2012 kicks off on Thursday 20th September with the premiere of QUAD’s Derby Soap Opera – one of the world’s largest mass participation film projects.

This will be followed by another first for Derby as Luc Amoros lights up Cathedral Green with a choreographed show set against an illuminated backdrop. The performance ends with a striking piece of art and eye-catching explosive entertainment to kick-start an extended weekend of family fun. Watch in amazement at this exciting and unique show.

Friday’s entertainment starts with another performance of Luc Amoros and ends with the Festé Jive Party on the Market Place. Professional dancers will mix in amongst the crowds – so you can really let yourself go or just watch from the sidelines.

Saturday’s family fun sees the streets come alive with a fantastic selection of entertainers, including a life-sized Punch and Judy, Giant Seagulls, a two-metre high robot and a comedy show featuring one man and his six-foot balloon. Darley Park will be the venue for Games Time for the Derby Festé Finalé – a fantastic stage show with a backdrop of giant video projections, fireworks and music.
