10. How the Grinch Stole Christmas
Based on the book by the famous Dr. Seuss. Inside a snowflake exists the magical land of Whoville. In Whoville, live the Who’s, an almost mutated sort of munchkinlike people. All the Who’s love Christmas, yet just outside of their beloved Whoville lives the Grinch. The Grinch is a nasty creature that hates Christmas, and plots to steal it away from the Whos which he equally abhors. Yet a small child, Cindy Lou Who, decides to try befriend the Grinch.
9. The Muppet Christmas Carol
A retelling of the classic Dickens tale of Ebenezer Scrooge, featuring Jim Henson’s loveable creatures. Scrooge is held accountable for his dastardly ways during night-time visitations by the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and future.
8. Elf
After inadvertently wreaking havoc on the elf community due to his ungainly size, a man raised as an elf at the North Pole is sent to the U.S. in search of his true identity.
7. Love Actually
One of the ultimate Christmas chick-flicks. ‘Love Actually’ follows the lives of eight very different couples in dealing with their love lives in various loosely and interrelated tales, all set during a frantic month before Christmas in London.
6. Santa Claus The Movie
A true festive classic, feauting two tales. The first half of this film, set hundreds of years ago, shows how the old man who eventually became Santa Claus was given immortality and chosen to deliver toys to all the children of the world. The second half moves into the modern era, in which Patch, the inventing elf, strikes out on his own and falls in with an evil toy manufacturer who wants to corner the market and eliminate Santa Claus!
5. Home Alone
An eight year-old, who is accidentally left behind while his family flies to France for Christmas, has to defend his home against idiotic burglars.
4. Scrooged
A cynically selfish TV executive gets haunted by three spirits bearing lessons on Christmas Eve.
3. The Snowman
A movie everybody remembers from their childhood, a magical wordless animated adventure about a young English boy who makes a snowman on Christmas Eve.
2. Miracle on 34th Street
A little girl discovers dreams do come true if you really believe. Six-year-old Susan has doubts about childhood’s most enduring miracle – Santa Claus.
1. It’s A Wonderful Life
An angel helps a compassionate but despairingly frustrated businessman by showing what life would have been like if he never existed.
